Normally when we talk about the origin of igbo rap we usually start from Mr Raw we then to forget that rap has been tested by a few hands before reaching the greatest igbo rapper Phyno.

Someone who dont know music history might argue that the local rap was started by Mr Raw and perfected by Phyno but wait let me introduce you to the man called Prophet meck he had a unique blend of Hip hop and Highlife, He delivers his lyrics in both Igbo and Nigerian Pidgin.

His two hot singles Ebe N’ Ele Ife and Asa Nwa from his 10 track album entitled Smoke The Pain Away way back in 2004 was an anthem and up to standard then.

But its quite unfortunate that this guy will forever be lost in the pages of music history for whatever reason that he may have had well he is not the first to throw away a crown and can never be the last so officially we said Rest in peace to his career.
