1. Do a promo track: Your promo track acts seems like being ideal or not doing anything or a sell off but in the real sense its a way to get your content out to your potential audiences and fans ensure that you give it out to the group you belong to in your church by doing so you show people what you are made of and that you have something unique to offer to your listeners.
This can get you support from your congregation to kick start your musical career so we do encourage you to go out there and seek support from your friend in the church some churches will give you support that you need for a start or even go the extent of donating money to you for your project and of course that is the first bold step to take to embark on your music career.
Although some churches will of course ignore you be plain to them and ask if necessary plead for support of course you will get at-least one person to support your project. honesty and humility is the key here do not be arrogant unless you have enough cash to support yourself.
2. Do an album : One thing you should know is the fact that there is no successful gospel artist without an album attached to him so its not negotiable its a must.
Know that you are not in the Afro pop genre so do not just do a track and relax telling yourself that you are done or you will be doomed or forgotten sooner than you came.
Once you are done doing the album head out to the street and sell it your self or get a marketer to do it for you soon or later you will achieve two things which is more fame and cash.
3. Sell your Album to a marketer : When you are fairly new to the industry and no one knows you and you have no money to pay marketers to do the promo for you then you have only one option left for your music which is to sell the album and the work to a marketer who then pays you and does the promo and sells himself depending on what both of you guys agreed on.
Do not be selfish about this or you will end up loosing everything and have your works forgotten forever or lost in the mind of your fans you can of course go and ask all the forgotten artist that where really good at what they do but were just greedy about the whole thing and ended up on everything.
4. Go for small gigs : Its not a most neither is it written anywhere that you have to be paid millions in your first show so start from some where and work your way to the top where you can state your price and make whatever you want so start from small gigs.
Your first show might even be on a burial so learn to negotiate and grow with the wave of fame and direction.
