MTN mPulse Gives 3 Orphanages A Treat At The Biggest Summer Event Of The Year
Did anybody living around the Lekki-Ajah area see any robot-like alien figures few weeks ago?! A few people tweeted about the silver humans they spotted on the streets that day, and many people gathered around to watch these silver-bodied beings in action. Turns out that these beings were visitors from the future who stopped at three orphanages around Lagos to invite the children to the mPulse planet - the biggest summer event of the year. These visitors from the future surprised the children at the Vigilant Hearts Charitable Society, Olive Blooms Orphanage and the Little Saints Orphanage!
Children of the Vigilant Hearts Charitable Society, during the visit The kids were surprised at the first sight of the visitors, many could not find the words to say. Some tried to hide behind their matrons. It was adorable to watch their reactions. Two minutes after the visitors arrived, the kids began clapping in glee. They were swept up in the idea of the future and what 2044 would look like at the MTN mPulse Planet the next day.
Leaning on the theme of the mPulse Planet - ‘Nigeria In The Year 2044’ - the children from the orphanages were excited about what they would be doing in 25 years and what would happen before then.
“How can you walk like that?”, an excited Yemisi (real name withheld) yelled from the back of the hall at the Vigilant Heart Orphanage. She was curious to find out how the visitors from future walked around like robots. The hall erupted in laughter and squeals when the visitors invited the children to show them how to do their robot-like walk. The kids learnt in no time!
One of the younger children who seemed a little hesitant to greet the visitors when they entered the orphanage, ended up shaking hands and laughing with the visitors as they left the orphanage. After all the memories and laughter, the kids didn’t want the visitors from the future to leave. They gathered outside their home to wave goodbye. That moment was as touching as it was humbling.A day after, Friday, August 23rd, 2019, all the kids invited from the orphanages had a fantastic time at the mPulse planet put together by MTN and supported by Access Bank. They had an experience none of them would ever forget. Chimieze (real name withheld) from the Olive Blooms Orphanage said: “there were so many things to play with. I didn’t know where to start!”
