The Lagos state police command has arrested a 42-year-old man, Segun Olusoji, for allegedly defiling his nine-year-old daughter in the Ilasamaja area of the state. Parading the suspect before newsmen on Thursday, April 29, the state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, said the suspect usually wakes his daughter to defile her. “The case was initially reported by one Oluwafunmibi Ojewale, 27, against one Segun Olusoji, 42, at the Itire Divisional Police Headquarters and it was subsequently transferred to the SCIID, Yaba, for discreet investigation.Upon interrogation, the complainant asserted that the suspect had unlawful carnal knowledge of his nine-year-old daughter. The victim also affirmed that the father usually wakes her up at night to carry out the indecent act”he said In a related development, the police said a man identified as Ebuka Orji, has been arrested for defiling a 12-year-old girl. Disclosing this to newsmen, the state police commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu, said “The 12-year-old alleged that one Ebuka Orji asked her to come to their kitchen when her mother was not at home. On getting to the kitchen, he removed her pants and put his manhood in her private parts, while the second suspect, Eze Emmanuel, pecked her sometime last year. Tacha has asked religious leaders to desist from using the name of God to influence voter's decisions. She warned religious leaders not to use their prophesies to make matters worse for the country during the next election. Gunmen have abducted a lecturer at the Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Edo State, Professor Osadolor Odia. Odia, a Professor of Engineering and former Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering was abducted on his way to the farm in Egoro, Ekpoma, in Esan West Local Government Area on Thursday morning, April 29. A source, who pleaded anonymity told Tribune the abductors had made contact with the family demanding for a ransom of N18 million. "I can confirm that Odia was kidnapped today on his way to the farm and a ransom of N18 million was demanded by the kidnappers,” the source said. The post 
An elderly pastor was arrested on the streets of London for making "homophobic comments" and telling passers-by that same-sex couples were against "God’s created order". Pastor John Sherwood and Pastor Peter Simpson were preaching outside Uxbridge tube station in West London on Friday, April 23, when police officers were called on them. Simpson said that he "began the preaching and referred to the grave abandonment by our nation of its Christian foundations, an abandonment which has manifested itself in, for example, the redefinition of marriage". Same-sex marriage, he said, was "an assault upon the Biblical revelation, which tells us that marriage can be only between one man and one woman". 
Sherwood, 71, then took over and began "expounding the final verses of Genesis 1". He told passers-by that families must be "headed by a father and a mother", and that "the distinction within mankind of just two genders, male and female, made in the image of God, constitutes the essence of God’s created order". Police soon arrived at the scene, saying they have received complaints about "homophobic comments" made by the pastor that were causing "distress" to members of the public. Officers were caught on video asking him to stop preaching against LGBT+ people, which he refused to do. 
Sherwood was then told he was under arrest and was asked to come down from his step stool, which he also refused to do. Onlookers can be heard shouting, "He's an elderly man, take it easy with him." Eventually, police took the man’s hands and guided him down, after which he tried to break free, before finally being put in handcuffs and taken to a police car. 
Mr Sherwood, a pastor for 35 years, said: "I wasn't making any homophobic comments, I was just defining marriage as a relationship between a man and a woman. I was only saying what the Bible says – I wasn't wanting to hurt anyone or cause offence. "I was doing what my job description says, which is to preach the gospel in open air as well as in a church building. "When the police approached me, I explained that I was exercising my religious liberty and my conscience. I was forcibly pulled down from the steps and suffered some injury to my wrist and to my elbow. I do believe I was treated shamefully. It should never have happened." Mr Sherwood, who preaches at an independent evangelical church in north London, was arrested under the Public Order Act for allegedly causing alarm or distress. He was released without charge but a file has now been passed to the Crown Prosecution Service for review. The Metropolitan Police said a member of the public flagged down patrol officers and alleged Mr Sherwood had made homophobic comments. Mr Sherwood said officers grilled him over his attitude to gay people. He was even asked what he would do if his children were gay. The married father-of-two said: "The question was irrelevant to the allegation against me. I said I would seek to bring them to Christ, but of course I would love them no matter what, because they're my children." Watch the video below. A West Virginia man accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile relative for six years is now facing over 300 counts of incest.The accused, Billie Gene Seabolt, 65, of Clendenin was arrested on Wednesday, April 28, according to a criminal complaint. A trooper responded to a call from Seabolt’s home saying another man had allegedly “made” the juvenile relative leave the home with him. The caller said they believed they had gone to a home in Kanawha County.The trooper then went to the other man’s home and spoke with him, his wife, and the juvenile, the complaint stated.The criminal complaint also states that the juvenile then allegedly told the trooper she had wanted to leave Seabolt’s home. The trooper said she briefly explained “things of sexual nature were taking place” at the home.The trooper then contacted the Woman’s and Children’s Advocacy Center for a forensic interview. During the interview, the juvenile reportedly claimed Seabolt had sexually assaulted her at least once a week from 2014 to 2017 and then again after 2018.According to the criminal complaint, the trooper went back to Seabolt’s home and arrested him. He is charged with one count of sexual abuse by a custodian or guardian, first-degree sexual assault, and 312 counts of incest — one count for each week during that time period.Seabolt is reportedly being held in the Central Regional Jail on a $1 million bond. Man O’ War operatives will now be deployed by the Oyo state government to primary and secondary schools across the state in a bid to curb insecurity. Governor Seyi Makinde made the announcement on Thursday April 29 when he received national executives of the paramilitary organisation at his office. A statement released by Taiwo Adisa, chief press secretary to the governor read; “Man O’ War, as an organisation, I know is trying its best. I can testify to the role Man O’ War played during the elections that I participated in as governorship candidate in 2015 and 2019. So, I will renew my commitment in Man O’ War.“Yes, the nation is faced with insecurity challenges right now all over the place. We have insurgency in the north-east, banditry in the north-west. We have herders/farmers clash in the north-central zone of the country. And we thought those were far, remote, but now, they are at our doorstep. Here also in Oyo state, we have been dealing with kidnapping, farmer/herder clashes and people have suddenly become temperamental.“Before now, if you were walking on the street, you would see some issues arise and people would settle them amicably. But now, they will almost kill one another. So, this is a period that Man O’ War will need to double its efforts and look at programmes at the grassroots level where we can project more on the issue of citizenship and leadership for our country.“In schools, we have discussed with the honourable commissioner for education before now on the issue of security. Some of the schools are not properly fenced; hoodlums hibernate in schools.“I know they have put together a proposal on fencing and having demarcations for all of the schools, but this idea of deployment of Man O’ War for security and surveillance is a welcome idea. Operatives of the Oyo State Security Network Agency popularly called Amotekun Corps in collaboration with Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) and Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) have arrested six bandits at the Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo state. 
A statement released by the commander of the Amotekun in the state, Col. Olayinka, said the operation was carried out while on their joint routine patrol in the early hours of today April 29. "They tried to escape from the scene but were given hot pursuit by the operatives as they tried to evade arrest. We are still on the trail of others who managed to escape from the scene." He gave the names of those arrested as Awali Atine, Ibrahim Abu, Shuaib Balau, Ibrahim Musa, Abdullah Masika and Umar Aliu Masika. He said all the six suspects are of Fulani extraction and the arrest was carried out along Okeho-Ilua and Okeho-Iseyin Road around 4am on Thursday. Olayinka added that the bandits' modus operandi is to pretend like herdsmen in the day and violently robbed innocent passengers on the highways at night. He said they were caught with 183 cows, weapons and a total sum of N268, 470.00. Olayinka added that they have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Authority, Okeho Divisional Headquarters, alongside the 183 cows, weapons, and money found in their possession for further investigation. Actress Ruth Kadiri has reacted to reports that actor, Baba Ijesha, who has been accused of molesting a minor seven years ago, will be released on Friday, April 30. A police source has said that the actor may be released due to the ongoing strike action by judicial workers. The police source said he will be released as it is against the law to hold him in custody without trial. The source also said no case of defilement has been established against the actor. Read here. Two Nigerian men have been arrested in Suwon, South Korea for allegedly swindling South Korean victims, mostly women, of tens of thousands of dollars in romance scams, local police said Wednesday, April 28. According to the Gyeonggi Nambu Police Agency, just south of Seoul, the suspects defrauded four South Koreans, three women and one man of about 120 million won (US$107,900) in total after the two befriended the victims online under fake identities. One of the suspects falsely introduced himself as a U.S. military surgeon based in Yemen to a South Korean woman he met on a social network service in January. After a month of friendly online exchanges, the Nigerian man allegedly tricked her into sending him a total of 51 million won for his fake project to ship gold bars to South Korea. The other Nigerian falsely posed as an employee at the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and a female U.S. soldier to trick one woman and a man, police said. The police said whether they were working together has yet to be confirmed as both of them were denying the charges. The Gyeonggi Nambu Police Agency is currently looking into 57 romance scam cases reported since January including the latest cases. The police are expanding the probe to see if the cases involve any larger fraud organizations. The post 
The Department of State Services has raised an alarm of the Indigenous People of Biafra’s Eastern Security Network acquiring bombs and explosives which they are moving from Lagos to Imo to destabilize the South-East state. The information was conveyed in a letter with reference number, S.238/5/1538 dated April 26, 2021 and signed by I. Abdullah on behalf of the Imo State DSS Director. In the letter addressed to the Brigade Commander, 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze, Owerri, Imo State, the DSS said the explosives are being moved in articulated trucks from Lagos to a hideout in Orlu, Imo State. It read; “Intelligence revealed that the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra/Eastern Security Network has acquired bombs and Improvised Explosive Devices with which to further their subversive activities.“It was reliably gathered that the newly acquired items are currently being conveyed from Lagos to an unconfirmed location in Orlu Local Government Area.“The items are being concealed in articulated/heavy duty vehicles to beat security checks along the road. It was further revealed that the group intends to deploy the explosives in their planned attacks on security/government installations across the state.” The Brigade commander was advised by the secret police to ensure that security operatives search all trucks coming into the state. Reacting to the claim, IPOB's spokesperson Emma Powerful averred that there's no truth in the information passed on from a "zoo agent.'' He told Punch that anyone or institution is free to say whatever they like about IPOB. The IPOB Spokesperson said; "What the DSS is saying is a huge lie. There is no iota of truth in what that Federal Government-sponsored Zoo and Caliphate agent is saying. The three white men charged with the killing of 25-year-old Ahmaud Arbery as he jogged through his own Georgia neighborhood in February 2020, have now been charged with federal hate crimes. George McMichael, 65, his son Travis McMichael, 35, and William “Roddie” Bryan, 51, have all been charged with one count of interference with rights and one count of attempted kidnapping according to the U.S. Department of Justice. The two charges accuse the men of interfering with Arbery’s right to use a public street because he was Black. As it relates to the kidnapping claims, TMZ reported that federal agents alleged that the 3 men attempted to unlawfully seize and confine Ahmaud by chasing after him in their trucks. Prosecutors claim they did this in an attempt to restrain him, restrict his free movement, corral and detain him against his will while he was running down a public street in Brunswick, GA. 
The two McMichaels will also face one count each of using, carrying, and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence. In addtion to the new federal charges, the McMichaels and Bryan still face the state charges of aggravated assault and murder that were brought against them by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation last May. Ahmaud's mother, Wanda Cooper told TMZ she's grateful for the federal charges, especially since this wasn't even a possible outcome not too long ago in the state of Georgia. Governor David Umahi on Wednesday April 28, said the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is not responsible for most of the attacks in Ebonyi state. Umahi said this while addressing newsmen after a security council meeting held in Abakiliki. The Governor who alleged that hoodlums hide under the umbrella of IPOB to carry out their evil attacks, backed this up with a recent attack of a bank in Onueke in Ezza South Local Government Area of the state. The Ebonyi state Governor said; “We are aware that there are some killings over the weekend; a policeman was killed, two army men were killed and I think one civilian and their killers are pure bandits.“They do these killings and put it in social media that they are members of IPOB or ESN.“Without standing for either IPOB or ESN, but they continue to deny that they are not into violence but for me, criminality is criminality and I have directed security agencies to crack down on all criminal activities in the state.“And for those who did the killings, the security agencies must bring them to book within 72 hours, they must do that." The Governor also imposed curfew in the border axis of the state which he said would start on Wednesday from 8 pm to 6 am. He further directed natives doctors and traditional medicine dealers within seven days to register with the state government or face prosecution. Umahi said the Commissioner in charge of Border Peace and Internal Security, the Commissioner for health and the state Commissioner of Police would be empowered with an executive order to arrest and prosecute any offender. He added; “We have agreed that all native doctors in the state and traditional medicine dealers must within seven days today register with the Commissioner for Border Peace, with the Commissioner for health and with the CP.“There will be an executive order to this effect and anyone that is caught doing otherwise will be arrested and will be prosecuted." Decrying an alleged increase in fake news in the state, Umahi stated that his administration would henceforth track down those behind such information and prosecute them. He said; “We agreed that there is rampant fake news in Ebonyi State.“Like today, somebody posted that herdsmen are in Ebonyi and they are killing people and schools started closing down, students and pupils started running helter-skelter. A woman is in prison after offering lap dances to “random citizens,” asking police if they wanted to have sex on the sidewalk, and threatening assault against paramedics.According to reports Olivia Taylor-Washek, 28, from Florida, was charged in St. Petersburg with disorderly intoxication (disturbance) on Saturday April 24 shortly before 9 p.m. 
A disturbance call was made to police authorities after a “highly intoxicated” Taylor-Washek was “stumbling on the sidewalk and attempting to give lap dances random citizens outside of a business,” After Fire Rescue was called to evaluate her, she threatened “to punch paramedics if they touched her,” According to an arrest report obtained this week by The Smoking Gun.Police offered to walk her home, but Taylor-Washek “continued to yell profanities” at both authorities and bystanders alike, according to the document.She proceeded to ask police if they wanted to have sex on the sidewalk and then yelled that the cops “were going to shoot her.”"At one point she allegedly asked officers 'if they wanted to "bang" on the sidewalk.''"Despite asking them if they wanted to 'bang', Taylor-Washek is also said to have asked the officers if they were going shoot her." the arrest report saidEventually, Taylor-Washek was arrested for disorderly intoxication and released on Sunday on her own recognizance.According to her Instagram, Taylor-Washek is currently competing with other women to be on the cover of Maxim magazine. The victimThe Abia State Police Command has launched manhunt for a fleeing gateman after a widow was brutally murdered in Umuahia. The victim, Mrs Queeneth Alozie, a retired nurse from the Federal Medical Centre FMC Umuahia, was allegedly slaughtered on Sunday morning, April 25, by yet-to be identified assailants. 
Until her death, Mrs Alozie was the wife of a late Dr. Alozie from Isingwu Umuahia, the owner of the popular Obioma Hospital at School Road Umuahia. She was living alone in their mansion opposite the Broadcasting Corporation of Abia, BCA as the children are all based abroad. It was gathered that the slain widow had recently employed the fleeing gateman from her maternal home in Mbaise. According to reports, the older security man returned from church on that fateful day and attempted to enter the compound but the gate was locked from behind. "I called his (gateman’s) phone number many times and his line was switched off. I then called that of my madam, there was also no response”, he said. The older security guard alerted neigbours who broke into the compound through the back door and discovered the widow in the pool of her blood. She was said to have sustained an axe cut on the head. Spokesperson of the command, Geoffrey Ogbonna, who confirmed the incident on Tuesday, said investigations were on to unravel the circumstances surrounding the murder. Meanwhile, the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives of Abia State, have staged a protest over the gruesome killing of her member. Carrying placards with inscriptions like, "those involved in this wicked act will not go free, Our Lives are under threat, today it is Queeneth, Who knows whom it may be tomorrow" the nurses called on the government and security agents to fish out the perpetrator of the crime for justice to prevail. Speaking to journalists during the protest on Tuesday, the state Chairman, National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, Comrade Ugochi Akoma described the murder as barbaric. On her part, the unit Chairman, FMC, Mrs Stella Onwumah, called on the state government to ensure that Heath workers are protected even in the discharge their duties.
