Former Presidential candidate, Kingsley Moghalu has lashed out at the Buhari-led adminstration over the killing of 43 farmers by Boko Haram terrorists in Borno state. In tweets he shared, the economist expressed fear of Nigeria becoming a failed state. He also said that ''a government which can’t protect the lives of its citizens, spends all its energy attempting to suppress #EndSARS peaceful protesters.'' Moghalu wrote; “The barbaric beheading of 43 Nigerians in Zabarmari village in Borno State by Boko Haram is a national outrage and tragedy. It’s increasingly clear that @NigeriaGov is unable to protect the lives of Nigerians. What does that mean? Our country is becoming a failed state.“It is a travesty that a government that can’t protect the lives of its citizens spends all its energy attempting to suppress #EndSARS peaceful protesters, freezing their bank accounts and bringing spurious legal charges.”Our government and our Central Bank call peaceful citizens financiers of terrorism” while the real terrorists are having a field day with Nigerian lives and no one apparently can stop them and their real financiers. It is a national shame.“The real challenge we face: Can Nigeria survive until 2023 without a massive implosion? #NoSecurity #NoEconomy. What’s left? #Restructuring."

Nigerian Defence Headquarters' Director of Information, Maj. Gen. John Eneche has countered the United Nations' claim of 110 people being killed over the weekend in Borno. LIB reported earlier that United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, Edward Kallon said no fewer than 110 farmers were killed in Saturday, November 28 attack on rice farms in Zabarmari community in Borno state. Reacting to this in an interview on Channels Television today November 30, Eneche stated that what the military have so far counted with the locals is 43 bodies. Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has reacted to the calls for restructuring which was recently reignited by the Governors in the South-South region he comes from. The former Governor of Rivers state who spoke in an interview on Channels Television stated that while the calls for restructuring of the country may not be bad, however tackling hunger and poverty is more critical to the federal government. Amaechi said; “If to you what is important is restructuring, I don’t see anything wrong with restructuring but I am saying it is not the most critical problem we have. “The most critical problem we have is that hunger and poverty are breeding insecurity.“If you are able to create employment, you create security. If you like hire as many men as you want to hire that are policemen, you would do nothing until you put food in the hands of people. “When you do not create a legitimate economy, the people will create for themselves an illegitimate economy and be able to feed themselves.” Admitting that many farmers are unable to go to their farms in some parts of the country, the APC chieftain said Nigeria is facing a kind of insecurity unlike what was obtainable in the past. Amaechi added; “We are facing a different kind of insecurity. “When we were in power as governors, the problem we were facing was Boko Haram. Not is it much more than Boko Haram. We need to address those issues.”The post

The Nigerian Governors’ Forum has reacted to the killing of rice farmers in Borno State by Boko Haram insurgents. NGF Chairman and Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi who described the killing as “obnoxious, wicked, unwarranted and morally reprehensible”, added that it raises serious questions on the general security situation in the country and around the capability of the nation’s security architecture. Noting that the forum would “collectively review these issues” at its next meeting to forge the way forward, Fayemi further stated that Boko Haram has been carrying out attacks each time it seems the situation is getting under control. He said; “This sad narrative raises serious questions on the general security situation in the country and around the capability of the nation’s security architecture.“Since insurgency engulfed the country more than a decade ago, each time it seems like the situation is coming under control, the enemy strikes again. This has happened consistently. “The farmers were attacked while harvesting their produce totally oblivious of the danger that awaits them in nearby bushes. This method is consistent with the senseless bombings of busy markets, bus stations, schools and abattoirs whenever the terrorists feel overpowered by the security operatives or feel their backs against the wall.“Governors are concerned that the carnage is degenerating beyond explicable limits, yet again, and the catalogue of destruction is not only seeming to be endless and intractable but it has an adverse effect on everything in the state and the country at large.” The Northern Governors Forum also condemned the killing of the rice farmers. Chairman of the forum and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong averred that the entire country was deeply saddened over the killing of the innocent rice farmers who committed no crime except going to the farm to earn a living. He described it as a great setback to the efforts of Nigeria to attain domestic sufficiency in rice production as well as food security. The post

His office said Sunday that Biden will see a doctor “out of an abundance of caution.” Biden fractured his right foot while playing with one of his dogs, an injury discovered in a scan Sunday and that will likely require him to wear a boot for several weeks, his doctor said. Biden visited an orthopedist in Newark, Delaware, on Sunday afternoon November 29, his office said.“Initial x-rays did not show any obvious fracture,” but medical staff ordered a more detailed CT scan, his doctor, Kevin O’Connor, said in a statement. The subsequent scan found tiny fractures of two small bones in the middle of his right foot, O’Connor said. Joe Biden and his wife, Jill Biden rescued Major in 2018, making it the first shelter dog to occupy the White House . The German Shepherd is their second of two dogs. Biden adopted their first dog called Champ in 2008 when Biden became Barack Obama’s vice president. Champ is also a German Shepherd. The Bidens reportedly want to add a cat to their family. Trump took to his twitter on Sunday night to wish Biden well after seeing a video of Biden leaving the hospital. The White House’s current occupants, Trump and Melania, do not have pets. Venerable Adeniyi Oluwabiyi, the minister-in-charge and head of District 4, Holy Flock of Christ Church in Ibadan, Oyo State, has explained why clapping and dancing is not allowed in the church. He also explained why collection of offering is not allowed in the church. Oluwabiyi, in an interview with Tribune, acknowledged that there are similarities between his church, the Anglican Church and Cherubim & Seraphim Church. But explained that there are differences and he went ahead to point out these differences. He said: "We have some similarities, but there are obvious differences. We and C&S are both white garment churches, but in our church, we don’t clap. We have a way of expressing our joy." He continued: "The setting is Anglican, but our mode of worship is different. We are a white garment church; we sing, read lessons, listen to sermon, and go home." Explaining why they do not clap or dance, Oluwabiyi said: "We say people express their joy while clapping in the church, but Satan will come in to do otherwise. "In other churches where people go to the extreme by falling down in the name of prophesying or seeing visions, no one falls down here. "Any gathering where people clap and dance uncontrollably paves way for the devil’s penetration and manipulation. Such activities are not part of our doctrine." Collecting of offering in the church is also prohibited and Olubiyi explained why this is so. He said: "We neither sell nor buy on Sundays. It is a Sabbath Day. Significantly, today is the second day of the desecration of the Sabbath Day. "This is why we don’t collect any form of offering in the church; the congregation goes out to drop their offering and return into the church for blessings. "You cannot see members spraying or pelting money on one another in the church. Also, we don’t go to the jungle for any act of deliverance. We pray and sanctify water or anointing oil for deliverance in the church premises. "We don’t take this with levity in our church. You see people spraying money in the church in other denominations, but at Holy Flock of Christ we follow the Bible strictly and make the temple of God sacred. "Though, the Bible says we should not come to His house with empty-hand, but we should not forget that it is the same Bible that established the significance of the church as the temple of God, which must always be kept Holy. "According to the scriptures, Jesus sent out the people buying and selling in the temple. That is why we do not spend or spray money in the church; we come out of the church auditorium, and give our offerings." Oluwabiyi stated that Holy Flock of Christ Church started 80 years ago and they have managed to continue in the ways set for them by Christ and their founding fathers. He further stated that even though they do not make offerings and tithes their priorities, they do not lack. He said: "With my wealth of experience as a cleric, no genuine and anointed pastor will be hungry. God will commission people to feed you. Unexpected offerings and gifts will come. How much is my pension? Help comes from people I do not know."The post

Adegboyega Oyetola has narrated he received a vision of becoming the Governor of Osun state long before he joined the race. Oyetola who disclosed this while addressing a congregation at a service held to commemorate the second anniversary of his administration at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Osun Province 1 Headquarters, Osogbo, on Sunday November 29, stated that the revelation has continued to give him confidence of victory each time he is faced with legal and political battles since becoming governor. He said; “I am ordinarily not one who sees visions but on two occasions, I had a strange encounter. Imagine the son of an Imam, receiving a Christian song in a dream. That was my encounter.“All I could remember on both occasions was the last line of the song which says ‘IleriOluwa ni lati se’. Outside of that dream, I had never heard the song before. When the impression was heavy on my heart, I called one of my friends to ask him about the song, and he told me the song was the Track 2 of Timi Oshikoya’s album.“He went out and got me the album and immediately I started listening to the track, my consciousness was restored and then I had an understanding of what God was saying to me. That revelation has continued to give me confidence of victory each time I am faced with legal and political battles since becoming governor."The post

Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande who disclosed this in a statement titled “25m Nigerians to own 5m solar systems at N4,000 monthly" and released on Sunday November 29, added that the Federal Government's plan of commencing the process of installation of five million solar home systems in underserved and off-grid communities across the country is in continuation of the implementation of the government’s Economic Sustainability Plan. The solar programme nicknamed Solar Power Naija, for which installations starts in December, is being implemented by the Rural Electrification Agency. As indicated in the Economic Sustainability Plan, the five million connections initiative is a private sector-led electricity access acceleration scheme to be facilitated by a low-cost loan facility from the Central Bank of Nigeria and implemented by REA. Akande said; “An important aspect of the scheme is the option of outright ownership by beneficiaries at a cost ranging from N1, 500 per week to N4, 000 monthly depending on the capacities, for a period of three years. “The programme will include the assembly or manufacturing of components of off-grid solutions to facilitate the growth of the local manufacturing industry.“In view of the scale of materials required, solar equipment manufacturers/assemblers will be incentivised to set up facilities in Nigeria, thereby offering additional job opportunities to Nigerians.“In addition, installation, servicing and payment collections are expected to provide thousands of other jobs. In all, at least 250, 000 jobs will be created.” While the World Bank which is also participating in the plan is providing a grant to finance 20 per cent of the retail cost of the solar system across the country, the REA which is the lead implementing agencies of the Solar Home System, had through its off-grid solar programme connected the people of Olooji community (Ijebu East) in Ogun State to electricity, for the first time in 200 years. Manchester United striker, Edinson Cavani could be hit with a possible three-match ban for a 'racist' celebratory post-game comment FA disciplinary committee has launched a probe into the Instagram message after the Uruguayan scored twice to help Manchester United to a 3-2 comeback win against Southampton. A fan posted 'Asi te queiro Matador' in Spanish, which translates to: "I love you, Matador!" Cavani replied on his Instagram story: "Gracias Negrito!", a Spanish term which translates as ‘black’.
The striker, 33, later deleted the image from his Instagram story after he was notified as such terms are perceived very differently in the UK. The incident is likely going to bring at least an FA charge and warning as well as and a suspension of a 'minimum' three matches. The Football Association issued guidelines ahead of this season clamping down on racist and discriminatory language and behaviour, with offences on social media carrying a minimum three-game ban. Under the new guidelines, the FA must act where 'discriminatory' language has been used. The FA rules, sent out to all clubs and players - via the PFA - state: “Where an offence is in writing only or via any communication device the absolute minimum match-based sanction in such cases will be three games.” The post
BBNaija star, Khafi, has come out to deny claims that she and her lover, Gedoni, are expecting their first child together. Khafi and Gedoni met during the BBNaija season 4 show. Her fans have since then been watching her womb with many congratulating her for "being pregnant" with their first child. In a lengthy post shared on her Instagram page age, the reality TV star dismissed claims she is pregnant and also asked people to stop putting such pressure on women. She said whenever she gets pregnant she will share the news and until then, people should stop with the pregnancy comments they leave on her page. Read her post below ''The way I'm looking at the next person who drops a pregnancy comment on my post. Continue reading if you don't want to get BLOCKED. (I'm not joking).•I've ignored them for the longest now but according to the womb watchers on social media I have been pregnant for over a YEAR. So let me get this off my heart. Some people have flat stomachs naturally and some people have big stomachs naturally. The latter is ME. And when I'm on my period it is even BIGGER. I don't owe anyone a flat stomach but still I try to suck in my belly in every single picture and sometimes I do it better than others. The worst is that even when I'm proud of my 'sucking in skills' on a particular picture there is always SOMEONE who still comments something about pregnancy. This is a habit that HAS TO STOP.•First of all, women are more than baby making machines. A woman's fertility or decision to start a family is for her to decide, not for you to comment on in every single picture... Must our stomachs always be the first thing you look at?? •Secondly, I'm not just speaking up for myself but for women in general. You may mean well when making pregnancy remarks but it is not always a compliment. For women who have had miscarriages, have been trying unsuccessfully for a baby, or simply conscious about their weight it can be very distressing, triggering and also puts a lot of undue pressure on them. So unless someone has announced a pregnancy or told you then please be nice and DONT COMMENT OR CONGRATULATE them on one.•Trust me when the time is right I welcome pregnancy (twins please Lord!) and starting a family at God's time. But until I've said I'm expecting please stop with the pregnancy comments. I'll have no patience for them anymore and any one who writes such comments will get BLOCKED.•To those who mean well, thank you so much, I do love you all But to the amebos please be amebos elsewhere . It's pressure enough being a woman, so let's not add to it.''The post
