President Trump has confirmed the resignation of his personal assistant, Madeleine Westerhout, after she divulged personal information about the Trump family during an off-the-record dinner with reporters. Trump confirmed to reporters on the White House South Lawn that Westerhout had apparently been drinking when she commented on the president's children to reporters.“I think it was automatic I don’t say ‘fire’ or ‘not fire.’ I really think she had a bad night. I think it was unfortunate. She said she was drinking” Trump told reporters after Westerhout’s departure. President Trump called Westerhout a "good person" and declared the entire situation "unfortunate," scolding the press for sharing details of an off-the-record conversation. Trump said he loves his younger daughter, Tiffany, after Politico reported Westerhout said the president doesn't like to appear in pictures with her. The president said he spoke to Westerhout, who was “very upset” and explained to her that she said “things about his children” to reporters off the record.“I think the press is very dishonest because it was supposed to be off the record, But, still, you don’t say things like she said which were just a little bit hurtful to some people” he said. Westerhout, one of the few aides remaining from the earliest days of Trump’s administration, abruptly departed from her White House post this week. She kept a low public profile even though she was one of the most influential members of Trump’s team of aides, with a desk just outside the Oval Office. Two more suspects wanted by the US Federal Bereau of Investigation (FBI) have been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The suspects identified as Ogbonnah Atoukaritou and Alpha Chidi Egbeonu, were arrested in Port Harcourt and Owerri respectively. While Ogbonnah was accused of being the leader of a loose “syndicate of fraudsters allegedly” engaged in business email compromise, Egbeonu on the other hand reportedly defrauded a US- based victim, Goldberg Segalla LLP and other yet to be identified victims.

Sulaiman Ibrahim Dabo, the Kaduna House of Assembly member kidnapped by unknown gunmen has been released barely 24 hours after his abduction. The lawmaker representing Zaria Constituency in Kaduna State's House of Assembly was kidnapped along Zaria-Kaduna Expressway, close to Farakwai village on Friday August 30. A source who pleaded anonymity told Daily Trust that the lawmaker was released on Friday evening after Isha’i prayers. “Yes, he was released this evening around 8:pm and reunited with his family members. He was not the only person released but I don’t know who the remaining people are,” he said.On whether a ransom was paid to the victim’s abductors, the source said “that is for sure but I don’t know how much was paid as ransom,” he said. Olga doesn’t like the city and has taken the children back to their base. “In fact, she warned him against the move to Turkey but he convinced her about it. A distraught Nigerian lady sent out an SOS message on Instagram after a Lagos policeman allegedly jailed her sister last night August 30, for reportedly not greeting him. @_royaltiegram in her Insta-Live video said the policeman behind her sister's ordeal is one Mr. Eric of Area F police division in Ikeja area of Lagos. She alleged that the police division is notorious for rape and extra-judicial killing. The lady who stayed up all night to secure her sister's release, said the policeman demanded for N5,000 before releasing her sister. She however didn't reveal if the money has been paid. Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Port Harcourt’s Zonal Office have arrested 19 staff of a fake investment company floating an alleged Ponzi Scheme that have defrauded members of the public to the tune of N2,000,000,000( Two Billion Naira only). The company, Bluekey Investment Club, operating from Sonia Mall, 42 Woji Road, YKC Junction, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission( CAC) as a Software Development and General Contracting Firm, but allegedly veered into an interest-yielding Ponzi Scheme with ten percent (10%) weekly returns on investment over (6) Months. The Scheme also promised total returns of invested capital after six (6) Months. 
Nineteen( 19) staff of the company were rounded up on Friday, August 30, 2019 in Port Harcourt. Among them are five Principal Officers: Princess Tsaroigbara( Public Relations Officer) ; Onwusa Frances Chineze( Accountant); Naabe Gunugu( Payment Confirmation Staff), Tambari Success( Customer Service) and Anorue Maureen( Receptionist). The Chairman of the company: Neenwi Swanu was at large as at the time of arrest. 
Princess Tsaroigbara, Public Relations Officer ( PRO) of the Company told interrogators that her company was into “Digital Financial and other Technological Services” and was not sure if the company was fully registered with the Security and Exchange Commission, SEC, and the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN. Scores of defrauded customers thronged the premises of the Company seeking the intervention of the EFCC. Items recovered from the company are computer units and a sum of N459, 300( Four Hundred and Fifty Nine Thousand, Three Hundred Naira only). The All Progressive Congress (APC) has postponed its Bayelsa State governorship primary to September 3rd and 4th. In a statement by its spokesperson, Lanre Issa-Onilu, the APC said the primary was postponed due to a court order. “In deference to a court order, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has shifted the date for the Bayelsa governorship primary to Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4, September, 2019,” Mr Issa-Onilu said. A Bayelsa State High Court in Yenagoa granted an interim order restraining the APC from conducting its rescheduled August 31 governorship primary through the direct mode of primary. The party had on Wednesday postponed the governorship primary from the initial August 29 to August 31. It had cleared six of its seven governorship aspirants. The cleared aspirants are the immediate past Minister of State for Agriculture, Heineken Lokpobiri, Aganaba Steven, Ebitimi Amgbare, Diseye Poweigha, Lyon Pereworimini, and Ongoebi Etebu.
