Security scare as two intruders scale fence at Queen Elizabeth's Windsor estate
A couple was detained after they scaled the fences at the Queen’s Windsor estate, according to reports. A man, 31, and his 29-year-old girlfriend entered the Royal Lodge grounds, in Windsor Great Park, last Sunday, April 25, according to the Sun. The Queen’s son, Prince Andrew, officially lives at the lodge and was said to be there at the time of the breach. Queen Elizabeth II, 95, rides her horses, walks her dogs and attends the church on the grounds. The area was breached just over a week after her husband Prince Philip’s funeral. A source said: "This is an astonishing lapse. Everyone was on high alert after the first intruder, now this happens. Heads could roll." Police confirmed they responded to a report of two people on the lodge grounds. They arrested the man and woman and took them to Maidenhead police station. The couple have been released on bail. Police said in a statement: "Thames Valley Police was called to reports of two trespassers in the grounds of the Royal Lodge at Windsor Great Park on Sunday afternoon. "Two people, a 29-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man, both from London, were arrested on suspicion of being found in or upon enclosed premises and have been released under investigation while enquiries continue. "There was no risk to any individual on the site." The incident came just a few weeks after Royal Lodge security let a 44-year-old woman in after she claimed to be engaged to Prince Andrew. On April 19 after wandering in the grounds for 20 minutes she went into the building, where the Duke of York was at home. After she asked a member of staff where he was, she was eventually arrested and then sectioned under the Mental Health Act. Actor Yimi Fabiyi is still kicking against the decision of comedian, Princess, and others to re-enact the molestation actor Baba Ijesha meted on a minor seven years ago. Recall that the actor has been in police custody for over a week now for molesting the foster daughter of comedian, Princess. The comedian had in a video posted, said the actor who she was rendering help to seven years ago, raped her foster daughter and things began to degenerate for the girl as she began to do bad academically. Princess said the victim couldn't open up about the abuse until this year, seven years after when she revealed that it was Baba Ijesha who abused her. To get evidence that will be used to prosecute him, she and some others decided to carry out a sting operation where he was invited to her house after CCTV cameras had been placed in strategic positions, Shortly after he was left in the house with the victim, Baba Ijesha started to molest her. Yomi believes this is a wrong move, According to him, if all the adults involved are not arrested within seven days(7), then it is safe to say that the Officers in Charge are ignorant of all the laws. The Akwa Ibom state police command has confirmed reports that Ini Umoren, the young lady who went missing after going for an interview, was raped, murdered, and buried in a shallow grave. Ini's sad story made news after her friend, Umoh Uduak, raised an alarm on Twitter on April 30, that Ini was missing after going for an interview. Read here. Ini had gone online on April 27, to appeal for job, unfortunately she fell in the hands of a rapist and murderer. 
On Sunday morning May 2, her friend Uduak, who she last spoke to, gave an update saying Ini was raped, killed, and buried. In a statement released, the spokesperson of the state police command, Odiko Mcdon, said the state police command has arrested Uduak Frank Akpan (20) for “kidnapping, raping, and killing the victim”. Odiko said the command received a report of the deceased’s disappearance on April 30 and deployed a team of officers from its anti-kidnapping squad who arrested the suspect. Mcdon stated that Akpan confessed to kidnapping the victim.“Men of the anti-kidnapping squad… arrested the perpetrator who confessed to luring his victim to his house in the guise of giving her a job, but ended up sexually and physically assaulting her which led to her death.To cover his tracks, he dragged and buried her in a shallow grave in his father’s compound. The deceased has been exhumed and deposited at UUTH (University of Uyo Teaching Hospital) for autopsy.The suspect confessed to have told his local government chairman of his atrocity before escaping to Calabar and was never at any time handed over to the police by anyone”he said Mcdon said the police have commenced an investigation on the incident, adding that the suspect will be charged to court. Abaomege police station in Onicha LGA of Ebonyi state was on Saturday May 1, atttacked by unknown gunmen. The attack was reportedly carried out around 8pm and it was gathered that the police officer on duty during the attack was reportedly injured and has been hospitalised. Another officer has been declared missing. Technical assistant to Governor David Umahi who confirmed the attack said; “The gunmen attacked the Abaomege Police station Saturday evening. No report of casualty for now. But one policeman is said to be missing while another officer sustained serious injury. But he has been rushed to hospital in Abakaliki for treatment."The post 
Actor Yomi Fabiyi who had earlier accused his colleagues of being "malicious" over no "clear-cut evidence" of Baba Ijesha molesting a minor before his arrest, has now described the recently released CCTV footage of the actor being caught in the act as a "setup". Fabiyi in a post he shared claimed that setting someone up is a criminal offence, and those behind it will spend more time in prison that Baba Ijesha because a minor is involved. The student of Kings School otherwise known as Capro Secondary Mission School located at Gana Ropp in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State who was kidnapped by unknown gunmen on April 29, has regained freedom. LIB reported earlier that 4 students were kidnapped during the attack but while three of the students escaped, one remained in captivity. Spokesman of Operation Safe Haven, Major Ibrahim Shittu said on Sunday May 2 that troops rescued the remaining student in captivity on Saturday May 1. Shittu who said no ransom was paid to secure the student’s release, added that the rescued student is in good health condition and has since been reunited with other students in the college. A Commissioner in the Kogi State Pension Board, Hon. Adebayo Solomon (Akeweje) has been killed by unknown gunmen on Saturday evening, May 1. According to reports, he was killed by suspected bandits along Yagba – Ilorin Road in Kogi State. Late Adebayo's driver, who also got shot, managed to drive the vehicle to Egbe town before he eventually collapsed. He was still unconscious at press time Saturday night. The corpse of the deceased Commissioner has been deposited at the ECWA Hospital mortuary in Egbe. The State Government was yet to react to the development. This incident comes days after a Senator representing Edo Central in the National Assembly, Clifford Ordia, was twice attacked on Okene-Lokoja and Lokoja-Abaji roads by bandits in Kogi State on his way to Abuja from Edo State. The exes have been reportedly spending time together in Los Angeles, a source told ET, adding that they "are friends and have a cordial, good relationship." While the pair have not been spotted together, a source told Page Six, “Security picks him up at a nearby location and drops him off after spending a few hours at her house.” Affleck, 48, has allegedly visited Lopez, 51, three times since she returned to Los Angeles from shooting her new film, “Shotgun Wedding,” in the Dominican Republic. The publication also reported that Lopez was spotted out to dinner with Alex Rodriguez on April 23 at the Hotel Bel-Air days after they announced their split. Sources told the site that Affleck was spotted at the same hotel a day before J.Lo saw A-Rod, on April 22, being dropped off by a white SUV which later drove Lopez and a business associate to a business meeting.

The Argentinian football legend, 60, died in November 2020 from heart attack weeks after he underwent brain surgery. His death sent shockwaves and also sparked a flurry of accusation on who was to blame after his long battle with addiction and ill health. Prosecutors in Argentina later launched an investigation, including searches of the World Cup's winner's property and that of his personal doctor and others involved in his care. Now, the probe into his last moments has concluded that he did not receive the best medical attention. In a report dated 30 April and shared with the Reuters news agency, investigators said: "The action of the health team in charge of treating DAM (Diego Armando Maradona) was inadequate, deficient and reckless." It added that Maradona had become seriously ill and had been dying for around 12 hours before he passed away on 25 November. "He presented unequivocal signs of a prolonged agonizing period, so we conclude that the patient was not properly monitored from 00:30 on 25/11/2020," the report said. Maradona, regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time, was the inspiration for Argentina's World Cup success in Mexico in 1986, winning the Golden Ball as the tournament's best player. A little boy, Muhammad Kabir, who was kidnapped from his parents’ home in Kaduna state, has been found dead, seven days after he was taken and N5 million ransom was paid for his release. DailyTrust reports that Kabir was taken from the Badarawa suburb of Kaduna North local government area and is believed to have been killed by his kidnappers, one of whom is said to be his neighbour. His body was found in drainage in Kano after a weeklong search and returned to Kaduna today May 1 for burial. 
Sources in the community also said immediately the boy was declared missing, a search for him was done for days before a call came in from the kidnappers demanding N50m, and then later reduced the amount to N35m before finally agreeing to N5m. Abdulrahman Kabir Magayaki, a brother to the victim, said late Kabir was taken away from their house to Zaria then to Kano State where his body was retrieved after the ransom was paid.“One of the suspects that took the boy away was our neighbour while the ex-military personnel was also a resident in the community. They took him to Zaria from there to Kano where his body was retrieved inside drainage after they collected 5 million naira ransom,” he said.Abdulrahman said the victim’s body was brought back to Kaduna and buried according to Islamic rites on Saturday May 1. Another resident, on condition of anonymity, said the victim must have been killed after he recognised the faces of his abductors since they all live in the same area. Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Kaduna state police command, ASP Mohammed Jalige, said three suspects have been arrested in connection to the crime, including the neighbour. He said they all confessed to the crime but said he cannot comment on the military background of one of the suspects until after the investigation is concluded.The post 
At least eight persons have allegedly died and 36 others injured after a palm oil-laden truck plunged into a ditch in Osogbo, Osun State in the early hours of today, May 1. According to reports, the occupants who were mostly traders were sleeping on the truck, a Volvo FL7, with registration number KMC 35 ZJ, when the accident happened. The truck was ascending the November 27 overhead bridge opposite the NECO office when the driver lost control as the truck could not ascend the bridge. The truck then went on a reverse and fell into the ditch. “The accident happened around 2 am when some of us were sleeping on top of the kegs of palm oil in the truck.The truck fell into the ditch and about 10 of us were killed while others have been taken to Osun State University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo and one other public hospital'' one of the survivors said Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) Osun State, Agnes Ogungbemi, said eight persons were found dead and 36 others injured, noting that 61 persons were involved in the accident. “The suspected cause of the accident was overload. The injured victims were taken to Osun State Teaching Hospital and Asubiaro Hospitals. Arrangements are ongoing to convey the dead victims to a mortuary.The vehicle which was heavily loaded with Jerry cans of palm oil and over 60 passengers was trying to ascend the ramp but started rolling backward and lost control. It fell sideways into the side drainage, throwing off the jerry cans over the passengers and killed some in the process,” she said The post 
Ebonyi state governor, David Umahi, has reportedly called for the empowerment of bandits saying that they are '‘our children’' and need to be looked after as well. PM news reports that the governor said this during the presentation of 40 Toyota Sienna vehicles and 20 Hilux vans to security agencies for enhanced operations in the state on Friday, April 30. At the ceremony, the governor declared his intention to negotiate with bandits to ascertain their grievances and the way forward. The governor directed local government chairmen and Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to identify the bandits and present them for debriefing. “I want to talk to the bandits and empower them as we cannot continue to kill ourselves and destroy public infrastructure. The bandits are our children and I am pained when they or the security agencies are killed.“I want to ascertain their grievances against the Ebonyi or federal government, collate the facts for discussions to commence” he said The governor seized the opportunity to also dismiss reports claiming members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) or Eastern Security Network (ESN) were after him.The post

A nurse and member of staff of a private hospital in Warri, Delta State has been arrested over admission racketeering into the Delta State School of Nursing. The suspect who was arrested after a prospective student of the institution filed a complaint to the Director, Nursing Department of the Ministry of Health following the inability of the alleged racketeer to procure admission for him, was accused of collecting the sum of N400,000 to secure admission for the victim. The Health Ministry alongside the victim, lured the nurse to Asaba with the sum of N100,000 agreed as payment for the admission. The suspect was arrested after being recorded on tape by policemen who wore plain clothes. Delta State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Mordi Ononye who confirmed the arrest said; “We received a complaint from a prospecting student who applied and sat for the entrance examination in March this year into the School of Nursing Warri. He couldn’t make the required score and gave a nurse four N400, 000 to get admitted.” Mordi also warned admission seekers to be wary of racketeers who lure them with fake promises of admission into the state’s school of nursing.The post

In continuation of its fight against Malaria and as part of activities marking this year’s World Malaria Day, Reckitt Nigeria, makers of Mortein insecticide Brand, has introduced it’s “Mortein Fight to End Malaria” campaign, and joined forces with the Ogun State Government to support in the education and awareness of malaria prevention in Nigeria. Governors of the South East region have said the zone’s joint Security outfit known as Ebubeagu was not formed to confront the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) or it’s Security arm, Eastern Security Network (ESN).The statement by the South Eastern governor's forum comes after the killing of ESN commander Ikonson in April by the Nigerian military which led to IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu alleging that Ebube Agu works with the DSS and their aim is to track and destroy the ESN.While distributing 40 Siena buses and 20 Hilux Vans to members of Ebubeagu on Friday, April 30, Chairman of the South East Governors forum and Governor of Ebonyi state, David Umahi said the outfit was not created to fight the IPOB and ESN"
